Depends on if you are staying on their property. Some offer a discount if you are. Sounds as if this may be your first time in the Flinders? If so get a copy of the RAA
Flinders Ranges map as it shows all the private tracks and contact details. All the tracks and properties offer something different and none of the tracks are the same although you will definately get a feel for driving in
Flinders Ranges creek lines as this can be the main part of some sections. It also depends on how long you are there and where you are staying. For example
Warraweena in the
North Flinders Ranges offers a wide range of tracks suitable for the semi-skilled to advanced and by that I mean the Mt Gill track. If you base yourself at
Hawker or I suggest
Rawnsley Park, then you can access Sky Trek at Willow Springs and the
Chace Range and Arkapeena Scenic Adventure. If you stop at
Merna Mora they have several great tracks as
well. If you are South around Ororoo then Bendbeby Ranges also has a range of tracks with the Billy Goat being particularly challenging and not one for the faint hearted.
All the tracks are best tackled with tyre pressures around 26 psi for the best traction and to reduce wheel spin and subsequent track damage.
Pricing ranges in the $40-$50 range depending on how many and which property and where you are staying.
If you Google the above properties you will get all the information you need from their websites

Sounds interesting, got any pics? Do you mean
Bendleby (50 odd km's NE of
Orroroo)? Do you have map ref's, coords, contact #, etc?
Cheers.

Bendleby Ranges is easily found at this link
http://www.bendlebyranges.com/
There is no single picture that can adequately describe the Billy Goat track. Think of a sea level to 650m climb over about 1500m and picture several short sharp step climbs up shale and with bull dust potholes at the bottom of most of them. All short climbs are blind and have a nice change of direction in them. A great technical track that takes the correct tyre pressures and can easily be done without wheel spin if driven correctly.
Go to redearthexpeditions.com and have a look at their photo album as it has a couple of shots of some of the
bendleby ranges tracks

Hubby & I travelled through the Flinders couple of years ago, so prices have probably gone up by now but we paid $30 per vehicle to 4WD
Chace Range, and $45 per vehicle for the sky trek, it was
well worth the money, have a great trip:)

Thank You for your replies. Hoping to have two families toward the end of September travelling up there. Like many others I have been down that way on the highways going to and from other
places. Looking forward to actually spending some time there exploring. Drivers are experienced but not expert.
Cheers

Have a look around
Warraweena if you are going to the North Finders where there are some great tracks. The EO Gathering last July was there at
warraweena.com

A lovely and simple drive is thru the "Glass Gorge" nw of
Blinman in the Flinders Range.
We spak to so many peopl that have not seen it although they have been that way.
It is clearly shown on the Hema Maps & of course in the Camps 4 book.
We loved it.
Cheers,
The Wattos.
