Has any body bought the Patrol DX Walkabout, Nissan has produced
only 275 of these, they come with Auto Transmission, Bullbar,
16inch Alloy Wheels, Towbar, Alloy Side Steps, Cargo Barrier,
Snorkel, 6 CD Stacker, and $2000-00 worth of Camping Equipment,
what I like is they dont have Carpet Floor Mats, or Auto Wind Up
Windows, and they have the Manual Free Wheel Hubs, I may be a
little old fashion, but I think less electronic gear to stuff up in the
bush ect, in a few posts back I made mention of getting a new
Patrol, as the
Cook wanted an Automatic to help with the driving
on a trip ect, looks like I will place an order. through my business.
PS: I DONT WANT ANY BODY SAYING ITS ALOT OF MONEY TO
PAY JUST FOR CAMPING EQUIPMENT, I will give it to the kids.
Cheers

It's a 3.0L CRD which has more electronics than a Dick Smith store. I would be more worried about that than electric windows.
Basically your getting a lot of extras for $1000 less than a standard DX with auto. Thats pretty good value to me.

6-CD stacker?
I thought we'd moved on from these things, esp on rough roads. Lots of more up-to-date alternatives.
Otherwise, good value.
Do prefer auto windows, tho.
Mine have never given any trouble in 8 years.

We were looking at these last year and would've bought one however we couldn't option in the third row seats to the DX. Kinda glad now that we ended up with the ST and the few little extra luxuries it offers. Make sure you wheel and deal like crazy, we got the ST 3.0 Manual with steel winch bar, towbar,
driving lights, window tint, 6 year extended warranty (not a word from the Toyota owners please) metallic paint and 12 months rego drive away $52,500. One would imagine that you should be able to get the Automatic Walkabout drive away for around the same, hopefully for you, even less.
