We want to drive up the Beach from Rainbow Bay via Low Tide on Saturday around midday 5th April.to the township of Rainbow Beach. Could anyone who has done the drive give me details of the erosion up against the sand hills and the rocks at Rainbow. Are vehicles getting through on low tide
Thanks

As far as I know it's not passable at the moment I am pretty sure you can get a report on the epa's website

Beach is open from Tewantin Ferry through to the Leisha Track/Double Island Point. The beach is NOT passable from the Leisha Track up to Rainbow. Best bet is to drive up the beach to Freshwater Track, Freshwater track to Rainbow. Tides for that time of the day on 5 April should be good....

Here is the link to the Cooloola EPA with all the info you need.

There is about a 10 foot step at the beach at Rainbow, plus they have placed a big pile of dirt there to stop people from dropping into the abyss

As mentioned by others get off at Freshwater and drive the last couple of Kays on the Black top, you can re-enter the beach up past the town where the camels are kept and then drive all the way to the Fraser barges at Inskip.

Cheers Glen.
