For Truckster: Your mate with the Rockhopper gears, ask him if it is noisey in low-range. My mate has Maxi-drive gears in his defender, and in low-range 4th and 5th it really has a high scream gear noise. Wondering if the Patrol gears are effected the same way??

Nope, no noise reported... by him or anyone with the gears really. few others have Marks in GU 3.0's and havent mentioned noise.
Come on its a defender.. If you can hear anything over the bangs and clunks, it must have no oil in the gearbox!!! ;)~
