Any help would be appreciated in locating Shonkeymaps so I can download to my Computer and GPS.
I have searched the forum and googled it. No luck. I'm starting to think that it is not a free download.
Thanks,
Robyn

Hi Navigator 1 ,

you will need Mapsource City Navigator or Trip and Waypoint manager to view Shonkymaps on the PC

Trip and Waypoint Manager also can also be downloaded from a site on www.gpsaustralia.net

Mapsource and City Navigator are two separate applications. Mapsource allows user to view maps, prepare routes, insert waypoints etc on PC. City Navigator is the application installed onto the (Garmin) GPS that provides step by step and voice instructions re navigation. Mapsource can be downloaded but you require an 'unlock key' (as with City Navigator) to use it/them. Owners of (many) Garmin GPS would have both Mapsource and City Navigator.

City Navigator and trip and Waypoint Manager are names of products made from Mapsource

You can view maps, prepare routes, insert waypoints etc on PC by using Trip and waypoint Manager

City Navigator doesn't do step by step and voice instruction to all Garmin Mapping products such as GPS5, GPSMap60 series, 76 series

Navigator 1 might already have a Mapsource product installed , all I'm saying is he will need a Mapsource product to view the Shonkymaps

The same going for Tracks 4 Australia

Thanks everyone for your help so far.
I have a Garmin 276C with City Navigator 6 so all is OK in that department.
I downloaded Shonkeymaps last night - a long affair - but note that the contours are only appearing in a section around Maleny, Qld. What do you think has gone wrong?

once the maps get less than 5kms in scale more topo can be seen, you can also overlay contours over your CN 6

Thanks Skippy,
No, it doesnt matter what scale, I only get contours in the Maleny QLD area.
'..you can also overlay contours over your CN 6'
Sounds good, but how?

Hi Rob, when adding maps from the drop down list I click on the CN8 then highlight the maps needed then I add the maps from Shonky Full Topo and Shonky Transparent Contours

On the Map list it should show all the individual Maps displayed

I take it your downloading the maps correctly

I can't comment why you don't have contours everywhere else

If you send me via email a .mps file with all the maps you have loaded I might know what the problem is, other than that you could have a corrupt download. if so I could send you a copy
