We are planning a big trip around OZ in a Stretched RangeRover.
{similar in size to a Holden Suburban}

And need a large airconditioner to cool the Rangie
Unfortunately the standard factory aircon just in not capable of cooling such a large Rangie.

We have seen several types that are avaliable in the USA that look quite suitable
but unfortunately their Agents here in Australia dont stock these models and want $$$$ to import one as a special order.

Does anyone know of a lowprofile rooftop mounted airconditioner that runs on
"12 volts" that is avaliable here in Australia and Melbourne in possible?

Maresa.
The roof top unit is not the way to go as you electrical system could not handle that sort of power. the best set up for a stretch is a dual unit as fitted to vehicles like the patrol TI it has 1 compressor and 2 cooling units in the vehicle, any switched on air con technician will know all about these units.
