Viv C and may be other members rode off for their district hospitals and other charities in the Annual Murray (River) to Moyne (River) in Port Fairy. The ride of 550 kms is a cycle relay and Viv trained locally in the North of the state.

They were fortunate this time to have avoided the bad weather that took down trees across the state but just the same put in some very long hours in the saddle. A mate of mine stepped in at the last minute to make up the local team, riding 350 kms of the 550 km total.

The ride began Friday night in Swan Hill and other Murray River towns and concluded about 11am today in Port Fairy for the last of them. There were close to 1600 cyclists in the teams and all levels of fitness.

Well done Viv, it was great to see you achieve and you look one of the fit ones, not the other end of the field.Well done all of you.

Not just the work Laura, she braved the trucks too during training. I heard about one just recently who didn't cross the line along their narrow road to avoid them. I know what B-doubles are like along our road - narrow and NO lines. It was good to see her and the rest of the Blue Flames ride in.

She certainly has had a few close calls over the past few months. She emails me in absolute disgust on how people drive around them (or should I say almost through them!!)

Go Viv !

I ran 20 plus marathons, in my day, and about 150 "fun runs",, and was fortunate to finish everything but 3 events.

Finishing the event, and savoring it, is the most important part of it..

A sense of achievement, and the making of new friends..

Well done on your endeavor !

Better than me, I hated bike riding.

Cheers
Bucky

ps ,,, see you soon ( I hope )

Well done to all who completed the event. I did it a few years ago, had perfect weather that year including a slight tail wind for the Hamilton to Port Fairy part. Its a great event for worthy causes.
