All locked up and some where to go

For some time now I've received a ribbing from my mates due to fact that everything in the car is under lock and key (why make it easy for the buggars). Sounds good in theory, provided you don't lose the key.

The offending lock is attached to the camper trailer hitch in this instance.

After much searching for the key, the angle grinder came out, only to discover the lock was inaccessible to the blade.

I sat down and had a look at the thing, then decided to attack it with the bolt cutters to no avail.

It appears there are only two solutions. Either call in a Locksmith or grind off the locking frame.

Any other Ideas?

Regards

Kim

If it's a brass bodied padlock use an 18'' shifter or smaller shifter and pipe and twist the body. The brass around where it connects with the bolt will break.

Stuart

Thanks for that. I'll grab a larger shifter from work tomorrow and give it a go.

no worries Kim. A bloke showed me this a couple of years ago at work after someone lost the keys to a dozen padlocks. I have'nt bought a brass padlock since.
