Brian.
If the motor was rebored and fitted with new valve guides it is burning to much oil, if the motor just had new rings on the old bore its probably about right as it will take another 20k to bed the rings in. Eric.

Eric are you the same person who posted comments re Konig chains (that post is now in archives) a while back.
You indicated access to a source of supply. I'm looking for Konig chains at the moment, size 185/75-R16.
You could reply to cocka2000@optusnet.com.au.

Thanks for any assistance.

You may want to use a different grade of oil.

Brian what engine oil are you using?

Our engine had a similar problem at 7000k after rebuilding. Our engine reconditioner suggested changing to Caltex Delo 400 engine oil which we did and now only put in 200ml at 2000km

Hi
It does seem high, has it been the same from overhaul or is it improving ?
Did you 'run in engine' ? Do you know if it getting past rings or valve guides -- can be checked easily with compression test -- maybe you have a broken ring from assembly.

Thanks Bob
I reckon it has been the same but I did not worry too much as I was making allowences for the bedding in ??/

I do get some oil coming thru the breather
I think I might call and see the firm that organised it all and see what they are offering??
