Hi all i am a new member so bare with me ...no profile yet.
Here is some advise to all out there that own a 2003 GU Patrol....... I have owned mine for only 3 months bought it with 60,000kms on the clock, i had a problem with quick acceleration the patrol would not respond and die down to idle revs, didnt matter what gear or at what speed if i hit the throttle quick it would not respond without completely getting off the accelerator and the of course changing down a gear or two,,,,very dangerous in some situations, like roundabouts for example, so for you people out there that could be having the same problem, it is the " pedal position sensor" which requires a completely new pedal kit with a small cost of $700.00. Hope this might help someone out there
regards
john

Hi
John and Welcome
Sorry to hear about your problem - did you notice it during any
test driving before getting the car ?
Makes me glad I brought a manual 4800 GU.

John
what engine? 3L or 4.2L? I have heard of a similar issue occuring when the vacuum hoses have come off, so these could be worth checking.

sam, i have the 3lt turbo diesel but only having 60,000 kms on it nissan (who found the fault) said it was very rare for this to happen at such low kms and that the sensor was faulty from manufacture.
