I tried to add a camp site to Places but I don`t know how to find the longitude and latitude of the place. Can anyone advise me or do I have to have a GPS.

Unless you can relate the position of the campsite to a grid reference on a topographical map, then you will need to use a GPS to give the position while you are situated at the campsite.

G'day Terry
if you could give me a 'geographical' position, I'll try to define a lat/long for you..
Something like "about 5km N of a road junction, next to the creek on the eastern side etc etc"

Hi Sigman, The location is on the Murrumbidgee River between Wagga and Gundagai. After reaching Wantabadgery turn right about 500 metres the road veres left for about a kilometre, veres right and about 500 to 600metres before it veres left again you go straight ahead and the camping area is about 200 metres infront of you stretching to your left and right. Thanks for your reply do you think you can work this out?

I have done it using a map and it can be difficult inaccurate and may require some maths, what maps have you got and where are you putting the info once aquired? Im not sure but have you tried google maps or whereis for this info?

Maybe even extrapolate from points around the area you want, using a map.
