A quick email to let those that
camp on the
Ningaloo Coast that the
Learmonth Bombing Range will be closed to campers.
The area is from the southern boundary of the
Cape Range National Park to the North
gate Ningaloo Station, includes
Sandy Point and Doddy's
Camp, I
camp in this area regularly so it will affect me as
well, the reason given is the amount of rubbish that accumulates in this area, including the thoughtless idiots that throw rubbish into sinkholes and wells, one particular
well is absolutely full with rubbish and has had to be covered with a steel lid and padlocked, I personally had to dig out several dozen beer cans and other rubbish out of one
sinkhole over the
Easter period. When the area is to be closed to campers is yet to be determined.
Cheers
Mark

Why would you even want to
camp in a bombing range.
All that unexploded ordinance there would stop me, and as an ex RAAF person who has used that range, I do know there is plenty lying about.
Cheers,
Cruiser

Hi
Just a change off the topic, does anybody know the road conditions up around
Exmouth at the moment? They had that huge volume of rain last week and I was wondering if there is any water still across floodways or washed out roads. I am heading up that way in a few days, so it'd be useful to know.
Cheers, Will.

Oz,
south of Minilya there is water on the road, Lyndon
River crossing there is water across the road, but all passable, Yardie Creek is wide open, I believe someone passed through it at low tide today.
Cheers
Mark
