This should be a good seller, you can also plug your reversing camera into it.
I am disappointed with my Nuvi 760, I should have brought the 7200 but this might be a cheaper and better unit

1 - Slow at finding sat lock
2 - Every now and then it freezes up , have to turn off and on again
3 - Slow at directions , sometimes i have driven past the street and it informs me to turn left
4 - you can't save more than one track log , also you can't tell how many waypoints in the tracklog
5 - When Routing to a waypoint and in Off road mode the pink line doesn't follow the GPS, ( my old GPS 11= did this ) the line between the GPS and Waypoint should always be connected (I hope that makes sence )
6 - You can't change the layout on each screen ( I like to have the Speedol on the map page , this is only shown when on the bottom left when not in routing mode
Maybe be some more little things but I can't remember what they are
7 - the odometer changes on it's own , i might drive 200 kms and all of a sudden it changes to 1,100 kms travelled and then I drive another 100 kms and it changes to 23,000kms .
If I drive from Adelaide to Renmark it will show I have driven about 23,689 The other figures show i might have driven at a top speed of 1090 km/h or near to that. I can do this all on less than half a tank of fuel and driving a turbo 4.2 patrol.

I have told GME about this but they don't believe me or won't admit there is a problem
It's only a software problem which i hope will get fixed soon

As to your question : I also have to say you can't beat the Magellans DiscoverAus Topo Maps maps , I haven't sen the OztopoV2 yet to compare the differece

I also haven't seen the Magellan's Australia wide 'turn by turn' mapping to compare that to Sensis maps

But I'm a long time Garmin user and I just can't get away from them

I just whine about them :-)

My 760 told me that my avarage speed over the last 3500 km was 2765 km/h. Lucky I didn't drive past a speed camera :)

Hi Skippy,

In reply to:
'3 - Slow at directions , sometimes i have driven past the street and it informs me to turn left'

Do you have unit set on Pedestrian instead of car?

No the lady does say " Drive 200 metres and turn left on South road ", otherwise she would say " Walk 200 paces and turn into paved footpath "

I still can't work out why she says " Take trail " meaning drive along the footpath in the car mode !

Seems that Magellan has the best mapping software/sd cards so why not just get the Magellan especially as the Garmin has let you down! Replacing a dodgy Garmin with another Garmin product would be as silly as buying two Nissans!

One little product line doesn't make them all bad , I would have to flee the country if my friends saw me using a Magellan LOL.

Hey I did own 2 Nissans at one time, that wouldn't be as bad as owing 2 Tojo's would it

You can always get another set of friends! Garmin not helping you out with your problems with their product just sounded like Nissan and how they treat their customers with their faulty product.

mmmm two tojos! Maybe when I die and go to heaven! Probably go to hell and be given a Nissan. Hang on, maybe I'm allready there! I'll just go and check on the navigator!
