Does anyone know of a great camping area in the
Bathurst region? We like to kayak and take our dog if possible. We have a Jayco camper trailer.

Have you considered
Sofala,
Hill End, Macquarie River?
The
Bridle Track - from
Bathurst to
Hill End - used to be real off road but I hear it's pretty easy these days.
There's good camping alongside the river, drop toilets & lovely country.
Enjoy!

Call the O'Connel pub.
You could
well find a spot upstream from there on the Fish river.
If they happen to know a "retired surveyor" you could be in with a good chance.
Particularly if you can speak to him and mention the "retired gentleman"!
But you have to be on "best behaviour"

I have stayed up on top of Mt P. before, good
camp and close to town.

Hi salthegal
heaps of spots along the
bridle track with river frontage, can set up
camp and go exploring then not have to worry about towing we have towed all through the
bridle track and had to do 4 or 5 river crossings no sweat,at this time of the year not many out there as it is freezing at night, camped there this time last year and our cooking oil froze overnight but the days are ok
cheers Gypsy
