After visiting the Impressionists Exhibition at the National Gallery in
Canberra, we drove south via Brindibella, Tumut,
Batlow,
Tumbarumba to Jingellic where we met up with the
Murray River.
From there is was due west, hugging as close to the river as we could as far as
Morgan before swinging northwest for
home.
All in all a very pleasant drive with some good wineries along the the way.....lol
Cheers

Spent a lot of time on farms at Tumba and Tooma growing up, still got family there and some friends now live in
Batlow - God's country, hey?
Probably my favourite piece of bitumen (that funny black stuff) runs from Walwa (just across the river from Jingellic) along the Murray all the way (westward) through Talgarno to the bridge at Bethanga (Albury, basically).. not sure if you took this route or stayed on the gravel on the NSW side of the river and drove thru Talmalmo (used to be a hilarious pub there). Have ridden/driven all sorts of things along that road and it never fails to put a smile on my face.. perhaps the Oxley Hwy from
Wauchope to
Walcha might give it a run for its money..
Cheers and beers
Rich
