Has anybody been in to Wonnangatta recently? We are going in via Licola shortly & wondering if all the tracks are open & what they are like, particularly Zeka Spur Track.

G'day Shaker,

Some work mates went in just after Easter - they said the track was cutting and roughing up a little bit - but nothing too bad.

We haven't had much rain up this way for a while so there shouldn't be any issues. River heights are fairly low.

I stopped in at the Licola General Store a couple of weekends back - surprised to see a poster from the DSE/Parks there which indicated quite a few campsites have re-opened along the Wellington River. The place is being re-opened slowly - but surely.

G'day Shaker,

We were in the valley last week, but we came in from the north via East Riley track. Not sure about the Zeka Spur track, but vehicles were going up that way from the valley.

We left the valley to the south via Wombat Range, Cynthia Range and the Eaglevale tracks.

All were in good condition.

regards,

Geoff.

Hi, I was in there over Vic school holidays. Went down Zeka Spur. It's starting to roughen up a bit. Would still be fine in the dry, but if you got a bit of rain the bottom half could become fairly slippery. We also came out Wombat, Cynthia and Eaglevale.

Most main routes are open although a section of Brocks rd is still closed if you intend going out that way. Zeka spur is cut up a fair bit and will cause problems for a few when it rains. Last weekend they had a bit of rain & those with All terrain tyres struggled on a few hills.
It's time to bring not only your chainsaw but your mud tyres, snorkel & winch to the high country.
Cheers Craig............

Hi Shaker, a friend of mine went in and out today on Zeka Spur and reports it in good condition. He said it took 1 3/4 hrs in from the Howitt Rd and 1 3/4 hrs out.
