Hows it going guys,

I am in the market for a trailer as the base for a CT, I want to run the same rims and tyres as the Patrol.

I have seen lots of rims advertised on ebay ( not really factual I know ) suits Patrol or Land Cruiser.

Some trailers I have seen advertised have cruiser hubs , is it reasonable to think they are compatible or will I have to change hubs and get ones to suit my application.

What are others running.

Thanks.

Glenn.

The six stud cruiser patern is the same as the nissan. The difference in the rims is the offset.

My trailer has land cruiser rims and the spares will fit the GU but because of the offset they stick out a bit wider.

Hi Glenn

Just got cruiser 6 stud hubs for my new off-road bike trailer I'm building and it runs my Patrol 16inch rims quite well.

Gday Glenn,
The other difference between Patrol and Cruiser wheels is that the Cruiser's centre hole is a fraction smaller than the patrol. It means that a genuine landcruiser rim may not fit on your patrol. It will have no probs on your trailer, and theres no problem with aftermarket rims.

Correct! the hole is about 2mm smaller and given there is a taper you may not see it but it is there and the rim will not seat properly. BUT they will fit and would be ok on a trailer and be enough to get you out of trouble with regular checking on a vehicle. I fitted 80 series wheels to a gu with no issues except i had to cut where the centre dress hub used to fit in from the back of the rim and protrude through.

Thanks for the info guys,

Guess I will have to be careful seating the rim on the hub.

Luckily I am not trying to fit Toyota rims to the Nissan , sounds a bit blasphemous to me.

glenn d,

i have just had a custom made off road motor bike trailer made by an engineering firm in QLD. I told them to fit new rims & tyres to the trailer. they have placed new Sunraysia rims on the trailer that are interchangable with my gu2 2000 patrol (nissan six stud pattern). i now have 2 spares on the trailer & two on the truck, brilliant!

cheers

Hi Andrew,

I will end up with the same set up, plenty of spares.

Glenn

I bought a trailer with Cruiser Hubs. The 6 stud holes are the same size for Nissan. I then changed the studs for Nissan studs and Niussan rims and all my wheels and wheel nuts are now interchangeable between GQ and trailer. Makes life easy.

Cheers
