A question to you people out their in Exploroz country. Where do you store fuel when travelling in a caravan for generators?
What are the legal requirements for carrying fuel for a generator?

I have a steel box on the A-Frame that carries 2x5lt drums for gennie fuel plus 2 batteries+charger and a bit of timber. Other than this I would think it wise to have a jerry can holder made up for the van in an out of the way spot where flying rocks on dirt roads won't harm it.
No way would I dream of carrying it in the van or car over long distances.
Cheers, Trevor.

Two fuel cans + two batteries in a steel box = big bang when it all goes wrong. Not wise to carry fuel and possible spark producing batteries together in an enclosed space
Just my 2 cents worth

HI Kev,
You are right and this is something I have not thought about and will have to work out another spot for the batteries as the box is the best spot for the fuel.
Thanks for the tip.
Trevor.

Hi Phillipn
I've just had a jerry can holder installed on the A frame of our van between the two gas cylinders. I will be carrying a 20l steel jerry can in it with fuel for the generator. I understand that the main safety concern is with rear end collisions hence no fuel on the back bumper only 2 x 2ol water containers.

Phillpn, I am sure, with a little initiative, you can find a spot for a jerry can holder out of harms way. Is this SO hard??
