G'day everyone, just a quick hi from us out near Niagra
dam in WA. Got here this afternoon, set up
camp, had a port or 3! , and watched the full moon come up. And good ol' Next G has even given us some service. Been sitting here by the fire, chatting and a few other travellers here as
well, great part of the country.
We can't wait to get into the Kimberlies later. cheers Unc & Jodie

Hi Uncle & Jodie,
Yep, nice spot. Did you get a shady spot below the
dam beside the water?
Next try your luck catching some koonacs from the
dam. Then lunch at the Grand hotel in
Kookynie.
Gerry

Hi Gerry, all the good spots near the
dam were taken, but we had a great view of the moon coming up from over on the lower
camp area. Apparently it was pretty rowdy here last night though being the weekend!! Great tonight though. Took a look out at the
Goongarrie station today as
well, then back out to the hwy via Cometvale. Great drive.

Don't forget to go out to
Lake Ballard, west of
Menzies to see the Gormley sculptures.
Nice camping spot beside the lake - watch the sun set on the sculptures, the rise in the morning.
Don't try driving on the lake as some idiots have done!

Found my first bit around that area (1.5 ounce) 20 years ago.
Just heard good reports on the minelab 4500 that came out 2 weks ago and I am stinging to have a beer at

Hi Uncle & Jodie, yes that is a lovely spot, we were lucky enough to
camp at the bottom
camp ground when we were there but had no idea that there were Koonacs in the
dam, would have had a try at catching some,(wouldn't have had much luck though but fun trying) haven't had any of those for years.
Glad that you are enjoying yourselves.
Cheers
