Hi, I would like to know what the tappet clearances are for my 2002 4.2lt turbo diesel ST Patrol. Both inlet and exhaust.

Can you get a copy of
Gregory's workshop manual from your local friendly sparts
shop. If your doing tappets it will give you lots of other info as
well for the future.Carpe Diem

2002 should be under warranty. Wouldn't touch it unless absolutely necessary. Warranty only covers you if the work is done by a licenced mechanic. "
Home job" may void warranty unless done in extreme emergency (out in the stix).

Gary absolutely right. I didn't pay attention to the 2002 bit of the Q.
However the owning of the book is still a good idea.Carpe Diem

John,
To adjust the tappets, get number six cylinder valves rocking mark the valves from the front one to twelve, number one at the front of course and adjust the tappets 1,2,4,5,8 & 9 with a 0.35 mm feeler blade, turn the engine 360 degrees now the valves on number one cylinder should be rocking adjust valves 3,6,7,10,11 & 12 again with a 0.35 mm feeler blade. Hope this helps. Keep the shiny side up
