We are looking at purchasing a simple 4.3 navigation unit, dont need the blue tooth or MP3 or any of the other bits, just good maps (& up to date) and reliable & fast.
We also have the Magellan explorist 600 which is fantastic for off-road use.

Any thoughts?

You could try the VMS unit as per thread 56750.
Just talk to your bank manager first tho!

At the other end of the scale they are available for as low as $179 at Aldi A little more a WOW and other places. Its not the unit that costs its upgrading the maps which can cost more than the initial unit cost

Do a search on here u will get 1000 questions and as many answers so best do your homework, ask how much map upgrades are before you buy and away u go
