Great! I didn't realise that it had been re-built since the fires.

Are you serious! Might have been better spent on restoring some real huts rather than a movie set!

It cost a hell of a lot more than the original 300k quoted..
and the work was done partly by volunteers!!!

No where near as nice as the old one Wayne, although the builders have done a fabulous job on the reconstruction.

Thanks.

Wayne,

Planned to visit on our 03/04 and 05 Vic High Country trip but something always happened. Didn't go 06 because of the fires and it burnt down. Hopefully 09.
Thanks for the photo.

Wayne.
Im yet to get up there, but I've heard that its really falling to bits already...

The boards have mass gaps between them, and if you lean on the walls, the boards flex!?

Is it really a big lemon 500k?

The old one had gaps, but nothing like these from what I've been told.

Apparently the wood is 'green' and buckling as its drying out. thus causing much fubar.

We slept in the hut one stormy night, and it was quite acceptable, until the lost bushwalkers came in at 3am and left the door open. Inconsiderate pricks.

I'm shocked for the price its not steel frame, and made of aluminum siding or bricks. Yes its only a movie set, but they could have rebuilt 4 huts for that money and had concrete flooring and dunnys.

Warfer.. soon as I got a weekend lets go.

Hiya Harry

There has been a lot of controversy over this hut ..The way it was built (not asking the original bloke that designed it for the movie to get involved)
The $300k that was spent on it and the list goes on...
