Use the search function. This has been asked dozens of times and there are as many answers as questions.
It all depends on what you want to pay. A $1000 one may give better value than a $300 one. Most wont give u street mapping AND offroad unless you are prepared to pay more. Doug will be the one to ask and he is the Garmin Guru??????

Hi Nahor,
I am not sure if this is what you are after but for $179 looks a reasonable buy,

http://www.kogan.com.au/products/Kogan-GPS-Watch-with-Bluetooth/

I have their bigger unit the FIO GPS which used to be excellent GPS prior to the latest software upgrade. (Admittedly they say it is being fixed and returned half of the upgrade price but have been waiting well over 6 months now.) Also the bigger unit doesn't have USB or bluetooth which makes it not as useful as I would like nowadays. Still it does run and tells me to turn left and right etc generally where it should and plays mp3 and mp4s which keeps the rugrats happy.

I have no ownership or share etc etc in this company just a user of one of their products.

Nev

When making your selection be sure that you can enter a waypoint with out having to be connected to a computer. When you are out in the boonies and some one tells you the co-ordinates of a good camp spot you need to be able to punch it in on the spot. Some times wish I had kept my little Garmin Geko, check them out, it's probably all you need.

Also, the size of the characters on the screen need to be big enough to actually read them !

I bought this week a Garmin Legend HCx from JA-GPS
I bought the Garmin Legend as it is USB and works with all software, has 10K track points to record trips and and comes with Aussie base map and you can add more mapping like the free Shonkmaps onto micro SD card. Another good feature is colour and has 25hrs battery life on 2 AA. Other models like the Vista have electronic compass and barometric pressure and battery life is considerably reduced. GPS altitude is fine for my needs and does not calibrated and the GPS compass works fine when moving or walking slowly and does the job. Spent a lot of time researching brands and models to get the most suitable, and the Legend constantly came up the best overall for my needs.
Garmin Legend is big enough for use in car, motorcycling and walking.
