Hi all,new to the
Forum. Can anyone help in regards to fitting H/R Weight Distribution bars to a Expanda O/Back with Tregg Coupler?
Freinds have had one fitted to a Coramal Camper by the dealer ,no problems, but Jayco seemed to be reluctant to fit one saying its not needed?
I understand that it would need to be removed when serious 4X4.
Just trying to even up the weight to the front of the Hilux 4x4.
Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.
PS- have very steep downward driveway, would the bars foul the drive by hanging down too low?

father in law's driveway is a bugger to reverse his van into with the bars on... you take them off before reversing up it.
There should be no reason why wight distribution bars couldn't be fitted, except the obvious - that the tregg hitch is designed for freedom of movement and the bars are designed to limit same... and if your Jayco is causing that grief on the bitumen, what's it going to do off the road?

It will not cause any problems if setup correctly.

If you have Coil springs u put in Polair air bags and u pump up the polair to 30 lbs air pressure and u do not need bars . My set up of towing does not need Bars

Lewishamlad,
I think this has something to do with the placement of the Tregg hitch on a Jayco Expander rather than anything else. It has something to do with the ADR and towing heights of a tow ball which makes it awkward for a WDH.
As you have stated you have friends with a Coromal camper who have no problem, I have a Capri Pioneer XC van with the same arrangement, no problem.
It is worth a call to Hayman Reece direct to find the answer for your particular application.
Regards,
Jim
