We are doing the Gunbarrel Hwy in June but starting out at
Glen Helen Gorge and going along the
Gary Junction Rd then down Sandy Blight
Junction then on to
Warburton. Are then any camping spots along this route to stay.
Cheers Derek

Hi Derek
Depending on what date you are travelling, we may cross paths, as we are doing the trip in reverse, from Giles, the Abandoned Section of the Old Gunbarrel,
Heather Highway, back up to Giles and then the
Sandy Blight Junction Road.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Derek,
With regards to camping on the Gunbarrell we couldnt get a permit to drive on the old Gunbarrell, and it also stated no camping on it either. We found a place in the
Gibson Desert which was nice it was a days drive from the Heather Hwy. You can
camp near here to at the
well.
Have a great journey and prepare for a bone shaken car destroying drive. We did it in a 40 series Landcrusier towing a on road camper trailer!!!
If you need any info write back we did it a month ago
Have fun
Ryan and Karen
