Does anyone know if there is any camping spots/caravan park at Eromanga? west of Quilpie and do they still make their own diesel there?

Cheers Bruce.

Bruce,

We camped at Eromanga in 1996 so my info is way out of date, but back then there was a very basic camp ground beside the roadhouse.

If you're looking for a good bush camp spot then Kyabra waterhole is about 40 - 50 kms north of Eromanga and it's a great spot.

Bruce,

They still make diesel & from recolection the fuel at Eromanga was cheaper than Quilpie & (I might be corrected) but I thought fuel was availabe 24/7 whereas in Quilpie fuel was unavailable between midday Saturday & Monday morning. Always good to check ahead though.

Thanks John, will have to find a phone no to ring out there and see what's around. I am just want to see if it would be a good trip via Quilpie on the way to Innamincka and back via Thargomindah coming home.

Cheers Bruce.

Bruce,
If you come home via Thargomindah you can make a stop at Noccundra. Camp on the Wilson River & there are showers & toilets near the Hotel. They have fuel but it always is a lot dearer than Eromanga.

A couple of years back I did Innamincka, Cameron Corner (via Orientos & Santos) then Tibooburra & up to Noccundra. Something different.

Thanks for that John I will check them out, my plan is to go Quilpie one way and Thargomindah the other or vice versa.

Cheers Bruce
