As anyone with a 2.8tdi Gu Patrol would know the oil filter is a mongrel to replace - too much plumbing at the top and a big axle housing and diff pumpkin at the bottom. Does anyone know where (or even if) I can get an adapter kit that would allow me to relocate the oil filter higher in the engine bay. Saw a set up like this on a Pathfinder V6 some time ago but didn't get any details.
Cheers
Pete

Most of the speed shops/hot rod outlets have remote oil filter kits that locate the filter away from the engine using braided line and aircraft rated fitting. Pick up a copy of a hotrod magazine like Custom Rod and have a geek through it to find a retailer you can call. Most of the kits are a universal fit, so threads and fittings are common.

C'mon it's not that bad. After 150,000km and 15 oil filter changes, I still end up covered in oil from removing my RD28T filter. No matter how hard I try and what I use, it still ends up all over my diff and all down my arm. Just keep your eyes closed when you do it.

Good luck!
