The price of Singapore Gasoil (diesel as we know it) has increased in price from US$125 per barrel around the first week of April to US$145 today. In Australian dollar terms that translates into an A$0.13 cent per litre increase over the 2/3 week period.

Usually there is about a 2/3 week time lag between price changes in Singapore before they are reflected in the pump price in Australia. Based on this we should expect higher pump prices feeding in now and over the next couple of weeks.

Biodiesel is self-fooling illusion. It is only tad cheaper when made from unwanted cr@p, but it is no way it can solve problem – it is simply not enough of it to replace mineral diesel. 100% ethanol is illusion also. In my opinion future sits in fully synthetic fuel base on cheap nuclear electricity. It is well-known process that Nazi been using during WWII. It is expensive comparing to refining oil. For a while.

I noticed it was $1.61 at BP near the Salisbury pub (Brisbane) tonight. Fortunately, I use premium unleaded, and filled up @ only!!! $1.42 just down the road. (Don't forget we are supposed to be getting some sort of discounted fuel compared to other states.)
