Hi everyone, just after some feedback regarding a cruiser I placed a deposit on today, as i have never owned one before.

Its a 2000 (upgrade) GXL Landcruiser Wagon 4.2L Diesel (HZJ105R) 150,500 KM on the clock, with dual batteries, tint, side step, air con, Dual air bags, ABS, standard cd player, ARB bull bar.

I have negotiated with the dealer to add new snorkel and cruise, and a second hand ARB winch bar and warn X9000lb winch (from a 2003 ex government cruiser) plus a full service at no extra cost. (ie built them in to the asking price rather than negotiating a lower price)

The price $34,990 plus on roads Drive away price $36,425

The truck is spotless and drives beautifully, the pre purchase inspection is tomorrow with a full engine compression test and dyno booked in for next tuesday.

Have I done ok with this deal or am i way of the mark ?

Mate I think it's around the right money for the K's.
But an 8 year old car isn't going to hold that high price for much longer, give it 2 years and she's going to drop quickly in what it's really worth.

That is if a search on carpoint is any comparison.

Hi Harro, Don't want to appear rude but if you have already put a deposit on the vehicle, there is little point in asking if you have got a good deal or not.
Just my opinion.

And I might add that if we all reckon you'd paid too much, then you'd be pretty cheesed off.
Having done your homework, and already committed to the purchase, better to make your own evaluation of the price paid and then feel happy about your decision from then on. Don't even ask others what they paid for their similar vehicle.

Thanks for your responses guys, I understand where your comming from.

Just to clarify--

The deposit i placed on the vehicle was minimal. enough to take it off the market while I get the pre-purchase inspection and engine tests done. (ie if i was to walk away from the deal right now and lost my deposit its not an amount im going to cry over- if you get my drift)

Theres only 1 person who has to live with the final decision to purchase (wether good or bad) and thats me.

So I am after some genuine opions on wether the deal I have made is reasonable. also if there are any things i should know about this model vehicle (good or bad) would be appreciated.

thanks again and i look forward to more feed back.

The dealer probably paid for it about 22K
