Bugger....no replies.....was hoping that someone on ExploreOz was heading south on the CSR around late July, early August.

Spoke to Graham at Kunawarritji and he said about 20 cars come through each day heading north and about 10 cars come through each day heading south during these peak winter months.

Looks like we might have to sit on the side of the road and maybe attach to the rear of a group...hopefully they will not mind :(.

Brett

I had planned to Travel the CSR from North to South around July 21 this year.

Initially we had a group of 4 cars.

One fellow traveler has had to put plans on hold for the CSR as he is tying the knot next year, and this will stretch the budget a little tight (plus his current drive has done a few clicks, so he feels that this is the right decision).

Unfortunately, tonight a friend has advised that he too may not be able to make it as he mum is very ill, and looks as though she may not have too much time left. He and his family therefore obviously need to spend as much time as he can with her and to be around for her.

This leaves one other car (who may change as he is very close to the above traveler who may not be able to make it due to his ill mum).

I had intended to travel up to Broome with the Camper Trailer over a couple of weeks and truck it back. My wife and my little girl have booked and paid for flights to head on to Darwin to see the old man, and the lad and I will be picking up another traveler (whose flight has also been paid for to Broome), then heading over to Halls Creek to meet the others.

Is there anyone heading down the CSR that may be able to squeeze another 4WD in to their group.....we are fully equipment with long range tanks, sat phones, EPIRB, 2004 Patrol....and have had remote travel experience (and I am up to date with my remote Travel first aid) ??

Would love to hear from anybody that could add me to their party.

Cheers,

Brett.......

Mate,

My heart go out to you after all the planning you would have undertaken. I am going South to North end of June to Mid July. The best I can do is tell you the track conditions etc. I know from experience that there are many people who undertake this trip every week so I am sure that you will be fine before you worry about waiting at well 33. After all you are in a mighty Patrol so you should be able to take this trip on solo whilst towing a Tojo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will keep my ear to the ground for you.

Cheers

Dave

Thanks Dave...good luck for the trip.

Fingers crossed I shall hear from someone shortly.

With my experience so far, it should be fine, but in the presence of company it should be that much better....and if something goes wrong a hand or two extra should help.

Most go from the south, but for me, having the sun behind me each day, with the little easier approach to the dunes appeals a little more....but doing it the right way was originally my preferred option, but went with the others on North to South (which will now through the plans in the air a bit if I go back to Plan A....might have to anyway).

Have a great time.

I am a possibility to join you. I have a well equipped Troopy and normally tow a TVan. Am undecided if I will take the TVan on the Canning or not. If I do I know I will have to bypass the last few wells on the southern end.

I don't have any firm dates set, and am flexible on my timing. I normally travel alone.
Cheers
