Bought our 80lt "second" from the fridge shop [gold coast] in january 2003 , has never missed a beat , ,, be prepared for an average of 60/64 amp hr usage per 24 hrs if using as freezer+fridge ,,, more if fridge only.

Kampenman,

I live on the G/Coast & have personally been down to their Burleigh Heads office ( both the old & the new) & looked at their 2nd hand fridges & other sales items. You have nothing to fear, most are ex display, shows & other like things. They are a big reputable company & if not happy with a purchase they will bend over backwards to help you out. I bought a new 45ltr ages ago from a store & have had no problems apart from blowing a fuse. I went down & they gave me one for nothing. In fact one of their past top salesman (WAECO's loss) works for a Hinterland camping store now.

Best Off Road, Why in the world would you start this crap on here when Axel answered the question rather politely? I don't know either of you, however i am willing to accept postings based on their merrits and facts. Answering as you did, makes you no better than what you believe the other person to be.

Let's get back on track....

Andrew

Andrew,

Fair comment, but this bloke has history.

He has changed his screen name numerous times. This is due to the fact that he has become a social pariah because of obnoxiuos behaviour. He then reappears under a nother alias until he gets run out of town again.

Sure, I probably shouldn't have hopped into him on this post, it wasn't relevant.

Jim.

I live in Newcastle.TNT were the company that delivered the fridge. If you are not home they leave a slip to call them and make a time or you can pick it up at the depot. That is how they work down here.

We live in Newcastle to & as you state, TNT delivered next day if I remember correctly.
We only purchased a small, I think it is 18 Litre, frig/freezer as a second about three years ago. Top unit & have not had a problem with it. Chills my beer to perfection & leaves the caravan Frig for food & whatever else SHMBI wants to put in it.

Yeah i got an FF-70 about then too. Mine was second hand and i paid 650 from memory. It's been brilliant. The delivery charge was about $10 i think to SA. I'll be ebaying it soon as it doesn't fit in the new vehicle.

Hello Peter, just had a memory surge after my follow up!! I seem to remember that when you buy from the shop as a superseded/ second, that the warranty is for a lesser period compared to the same unit being purchased from a retailer. Might pay you to check just in case that concerns you. Good luck.

Yeah - well warranty is for a lesser period, and not for the actual damage that made it a second in the first place...

but I have two CF80s doing fine after 2 years or so.. both had minor dents that made no impact on the use.

I bought a waeco cf40 from the seconds department about 2 years ago. They were really quick to deliver, and only reason it was cheaper was that it was a run out model, brand new still in the wrapping etc etc. only problem was that the warranty is only a one year warranty, despite being a run out model. i got caught with the faulty poly fuse problem which cost me 95 to repair, but apart from that great fridge, and they were pretty good in trying to sort the problem out with the poly fuse. They are a heap cheaper, but just be wary of the warranty of them, but a great fridge in my opinion.
