I am having trouble with my V6 Mazda Tribute where the front middle cylinder is misfiring intermittently the plugs and coils have been swapped around but the problem is still on the same cylinder. Is there any easy solution to this? Can any one help please?

Have you swapped the cable connecting the coil to the spark plug. It doesn't take much loss in the cable to cause a misfire.
Either that or a fuel problem, maybe an injector.
Does it only happen at idle or across the rev range?

The mechanic has rotated the coils and plugs and has checked the lead resistance but the misfire continues to be on the front centre cylinder

Most likely a fuel problem,
Does it miss across the rev range or only at idle

More noticeable when the engine has some load. In the mornings it is almost not apparent. But when I use it at lunch the miss is worse. I mechanic thinks the cylinder is misfiring electrically with different plug and coil.

Has he checked the compression, and I would swap the plug lead as
well, even though he has checked the resistance.

Individual coils that mount on the plugs and both have been swapped with another cylinder. The problem still stays with cylinder 3.

check for an air leak on that cylinder ,compression
test is a must .
pull off the rocker cover an measure the valve movement to one of the other cylinders maybe worn lobe on cam

Sounds like a dicky injector. I would have them removed and flow tested, pressure tested on the
test bench. All will be revealed.
