About a year and a half ago myself and a mate were given permission, by our respective 'parole boards', to pop down to the big smoke and visit a few toy shops. So we made a day of it, hitting ARB, Rose'n'Crown, OL, Junction Tavern, Bunnings, Bull'n'Whistle, TJM, Woodbridge Hotel, Ranger Camping etc..etc.

Picked up a few things for the 4by, a couple of bits for the workshop and a brand spanking new concrete mixer. About a week later my mate asked if he could borrow the mixer for a small job he had and would return it in a few days. "OK" I said.

Yesterday I was at a property across town quoting a job and noticed an old delapidated mixer sitting under a tree next door. Both wheels flat, bashed up bowl, bent draw bar, damaged power cable etc, but it looked familiar.

As you have probably guessed by now where this is going, to cut a long story short, it turned out to be my mixer and that it had done the rounds about town but' to top it off, the bloke who had it told me it had done its job, was fairly knackered, if I wanted it I could take it. If not, he would dump it. [ I still hadn't let on it was mine].

This morning I rang my mate and told him I needed my mixer for a job over the weekend, could I pop over and pick it up.
After a moment or two silence he told me "NO !!! NO !!! er!..um!..er!..um!...I'll drop it in tomorrow morning.

I dont know who is the bigger barstard, him ? for lending it out to half the town, or me ? for enjoying the look on his face when and if he finds it. hehehe.....

Nor a lender be..........Lionel.

If you're a bastard, then so would I be. Nice work, now I wonder what you'll get back . . . a new mixer, a wrecked mixer, or a stack of excuses. If it's either of the latter, what's your plan?

Dont know John, not sure.
Not only is he a mate but he's also my bro in law.

Suppose I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

So he's had it from new for about 18 months and it looks like it may be well and truly stuffed. You're definitely far more forgiving and tolerant than me. I'd probably mix him up a new pair of cement shoes and deposit him in the nearest deep water storage.

Hi Al, forgiving.....maybe, forget.....never.

Working on payback as I type.

He has a crisp tojo 80 all the fruit, 4" lift, lockers both ends and an ego which dictates that its an honour to break the car.
Great 4by but lousy driver. Charges at every dune, climb, bog etc like a demon.
Its only luck and a solid forgiving vehicle thats kept him from killing himself.

There is, however, the King of Bogs, about 20 km out of town.
Seen that sucker swallow a D8 Cat.

Guess where we're going next weekend....Oh, and I may forget my snatch straps....hehehe.

Best served cold....eh.

Cheers....Lionel.

Get a mate to stick a "for sale" sign on it at a friends place on the road to that place.....$600 should do it.

Act innocent....and see if he's willing to pay :-)

Hi Willem, yup....heard about them pigs but never seen one yet.

Just checked out the photo of your car climbing the FF track, I dont know what the FF stands for nor do I think I want to know...hehehe.
My eyes aint what they used to be but, that wouldnt be a chicken track your on would it.

Hope not!.....Like many on this forum I see you as the Croc Dundee of 4wders, the bloke that makes Roothie look soft.

The challenge is not so much going where no man has gone before but more in going where Willem has.

Cheers mate and have a great trip.

Lionel.

Yerrr Lionel

The FF track was so named by a much younger member of the EO family listening to what her parents were saying as they came down the track....hahahaha. No, its not the Chicken Track

The Croc Dundee of 4wders must be Equinox who goes out there into the Never Never, alone!!!!....and on Coopers....lol. Very brave man indeed.

Cheers
