Checked the cost of fuel at Cotton Creek last week and it looks to be around $3.00 per litre. Cash only.

Fuel at Well 33 would be about the same.

Leaving Ayers Rock 5th June

Hi Wayne

You going North to South or South to North. Will you refuel in Cotton Creek or only at Well 33. Since I have the same Troopy I am interested in your past experience.

Cheers

Dick,

South to north. Fill at Cotton Creek, might top up at Well 33.

This is the first time I will have to go to Cotton Creek because of there will be no fuel deliveries to Well 23 this year.

Hi Wayne

Is it preferable to go South to North or is that just a convenience for your conveys.

Cheers

Dick,

We start at Ayers Rock, down to Leonora, up to Wiluna and then the Canning.

At the end we go to Alice Springs via the Tanami Track.

This works well as the next trip I have for this year starts in Alice Springs.

Also going from south to north the wells are numbered in that direction. It makes it easy to know what well is coming up next and what well I have to go to next.

Yes can understand the South to North for your trips and as you say, it puts you back in Alice where you need to be.

I think you would have enough fuel to get to Well 33 so presume some of your convoy would not, and without the fuel dump at Well 23 you don't have much option but to go to Cotton Creek. I am sure a lot of people will have to do that this year.

How is your Troopy performing? Any recent additions to it.

Cheers
Dick

Hi Guys
Our Road conditions rerports for the Canning are spot on as one of our Customers Gunbarrel Laager keeps us updated - they can even update conditions themselves if anything out of the ordinary happens out there.
