Hi Goldsahara,

Assuming you mean oil change. The book recommends every 5K for oil and 10K for oil filter.

cheers
Phil

1hz service intervals changed in 1998 (cant remember the exact month though) from 5000 klms to 10,000 klms under normal driving conditions (intermediate oil change at 5,000 klms was dropped) but there was still a coupon in the service book to grease the front end on the 7# series cruisers every 5,000 klms

Possibly with the introduction of the 100 series in 98 and 79 in 99?

If you do mainly city driving I would not go any longer than 5000km. If you do mainly long distance, highway driving than 10K would suffice. The 1HZ motor is a "dirty" indirect injection motor and needs regular servicing. Personally I change my oil and filer every 5000km even though it is only used for trips away and does basically no city driving.

Do it yourself and save big $$$. Your looking at $70 tops to do a oil and filter change yourself.

Hi GS,
I agree with Hughesy,
Oil and filter every 5k.
I don't understand why you would want to run clean oil through a dirty filter??
Cheers,
Wayne.

Yep like cleaning a wound and putting the dirty bandage back on ...

Change the oil at 5k and change the filter full stop.

I would be very very very surprised if the owners manual states 5k oil and 10k filter....the old oil you remove is cleaner than the new oil you replace it with, it is just loused up with carbon....and then the old filter needs to filter out all the stuff you pour in with the second oil change and keep that clean too....ive done it before, but these days i prefer to buy in bulk and pay less per filter and change them more often.
