G'day, looking for an Auto Electrician experienced with Nissan Automatics in
Melbourne, prefer South East. I am seriously looking at changing from manual to auto in a GU 4.2TD and need an Auto Electrician experienced with Nissan Autos. I have chatted at length with Truckster and will also post this request on the Nissan Forums. Thanks in advance,
John.

RosscoH, I am using the auto from the 4.2 TD. They made them for Japan and also export them to NZ. I did find an GQ 1993 Aussie 4.2TD Auto in a wreckers, have got the computer and the plugs for the loom etc.

autosparky, basically yes. I have the wiring diagrams, the plugs, computer etc, I can make up a loom etc, but if I get into trouble I may need a sparky to look at things. With the right sparky, I would get him to do the job from scratch, electrically that is. Just need to find the right sparky, lol. Would like to have a chat with you, where abouts are you?

in most cases in most models the wiring harness is universal , petrol/diesel with some common application , so you may find that with having a manual the auto trans connections are already in the harness in the vehicle now. you may have to disconect some applicable manual plugs (they may have a
bridge plug in situ) and plug in the auto components . im in wa . in the service manuals you will find locations for body and auto tansmission computor locations , and plug configuration

Autosparky, thanks for the reply, that was the job for today, look at what wiring loom is in the GU. Long way to go to get you to look at it, lol. Take care.
