Man dies in 4wd roll-over accident

A man aged in his 40s has died in a car accident at Bullengarook, north-west of Melbourne.

The accident happened when the four-wheel drive he was driving rolled several times on Pile Track, around 4:00pm (AEST) this afternoon.

The man was thrown from the vehicle in the accident.

A 10-year-old boy who was a passenger in the vehicle is in a satisfactory condition in the Royal Children's Hospital.

It is tragic.

The unfortunate part is that he was thrown from the vehicle.

They did some research up here on 4WD roll-overs. During the period in all the fatalities the deceased were not wearing a seat belt.

The fact he was thrown out indicates that either he was not wearing a seat belt or it failed.
