I have installed an F7000 for a trip and have a Codan 9350 that I planned to mate with it.
According to the manual for the F7000 you can set the radio to use a AT130 tuner (which gives the four pin output) which is (afaik) the same interface as the AH4 tuner. Now I have tried using the 9350 with the F7000 in this configuration without success. When I use the same interface on my IC-706 (an amateur radio) it works fine.
I am tearing my hair out here trying to get this damn radio to talk to the antenna and I keep getting mixed messages ( I really wish they'd named it something other than 'F7000' too). I have read a couple of posts with people running the 9350 with the F7000. What I want to know is this: does the Icom F7000 work with the Codan 9350 autotune antenna using the AD-F7000 adaptor box?
Is this setup reliable?
If I can't get the 9350 to work I will unfortunately have to fall back on the Moonraker, which is not something I want to do.
Thanks.

G'day Ben,
Here are the standard pin connections for the 9350 control cable.
Antenna end. (from the Codan 9350 handbook)
A) +12V DC
B) Earth
C) Tune
D) Scan
E) Indicator
F) Not used
Footy might be able to shed some more light on the subject.
Or ask here.

Ben you have to use the Icom AD-F7000 adapter box.
The Icom works alright with the Codan 9350 but you loose the scan function and receiver pre amp.

I am suitably displeased right now (that is being *very* diplomatic). I just shelled out $135 for this adapator and it's not working. I didn't realise it had the Barrett connector on it - the accessories list does not mention the OPC-F7000C cable required for use with the 9350, I'd guess because they no longer seem to be officially supporting the F7000 & 9350...
Anyway, does anyone have one of these illusive OPC-F7000C cables and would they be able to give me a description of it? I've tried just connecting the +/-12v & tune wires to the appropriate ones on the 9350 but it gets me nowhere.
I'll be giving Icom a ring tomorrow to have a chat as the instructions clearly mention this adaptor can be used to interface the 9350.
