Hows it going guys,
I have noticed my gear changes getting a bit rougher. At first I thought it was only when cold , but its doing it all the time.
I have only done 40k since I changed the oil in my gearbox with the mineral oil recommended in the manual, I dont think thats very long ?
Is anyone using anything other than the standard oil with any success in a GU ?
Thanks,
Glenn.

Always used the same 1 synthetic gearbox oils in diffs and gearbox, and it does work
well , use same grade in each , think its shc 85w or similar. Note - Have no rear lsd now , but they have a grade for lsds as
well.

Glenn
Use the Castrol syntrax 75-90 It made my 2001 GU feel like a car and I put it in the new GU at 1000k, smooth as
Bob
Ps
when I drained the oil on the new GU at 1000k the amount of metal on the magnet was the same as the old GU was when I changed it for the first time at 50,000k
