Can anyone in lighten me on this place? (out rear Innamincka)
I have searched here and Googled and all I come up with is the camping spot at the Dig Tree, but in a publication I have, Fishing Locations in Outback Qld it has the Station down as having showers, water, ramp and you pay of course.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Cheers Bruce

There is a camp ground with long drops etc. along the banks of the Cooper. They charge a small fee which is collected by a "Ranger." He was a wealth of knowledge of the whole area and talking to him was worth the fee, let alone camping.

They have a camp ground along the banks of the Cooper. They charge a fee (about $10 I think) which is collected by a Ranger, who when we were last there was a wealth of info about the whole area, well worth the money for the info, let alone the camping.

Was the 'ranger' Bomber Johnson, as he was at the dig tree a few years back and we found him the same. Friendly and a wealth of information.

Can't recall his name, I had the impression he was a semi-retired station bloke, he chatted for ages, telling us about places we could walk to etc that despite many previous visits we had never seen. He obviously enjoys the contact with visitors and is happy to give info in return for a yak.

Hi Kim, the only place I have seen where they say about showers etc is in that brochure Fishing Outback Qld, so still to verify it.
Looking for a place to top up with water (drinking) freshen up before we get to Innamincka.

Cheers Bruce

Try and get hold of a book called Conricks of Nappa Merrie, it is a great read and realy gives you an understanding of what the first settlers endured.

Gidday Bruce

Personally I would'nt bother. Nobody in Innaminka will care what you look, or smell like. LOL.

There's showers and dunnies in the tanks opposite the store in Innaminka.

Have a good trip.

Regards

Kim
