HI Pelesino,

One of my HJ61's is a 24 volts so I will be interested in what you discover. Please post your outcome if you can.
Also I have a question. Do you have a van or C/T that has electric brakes? If so how did you deal with converting the 24 volts to 12 volts for the brakes (and 12 fridge etc).
Hope you can locate the parts you need.
Cheers,
Glen

Hi Glen,
So far I've been able to find that the engine 12HT is similar to the one you find in the Toyota Coaster (Bus), so parts will not be an issue. The electrical system is different due to the size of the vehicle.
Are you able to tell me the details of the alternator that is in your Sahara ? Need a new or reco alternator, cannot find one. Give me the Model/Make/AMPS/Voltage and any other info you could find.
Mine is NipponDenso 24v
Any info will help
Thanks

The 12HT motor was also used in the Australian delivered models so I would have thought it would be the same.

I checked my alternator and it has the following label:

43 Regulator Built In
Toyota
27040 - 68030
100213 - 0520
24V
Denso

Hope this helps,
Cheers, Glen

Hi Saharaman
We just finished a 3 year trip around towing a KK C/T in our 61 series. We fitted a converter just before the trailer plug. It is specifically designed to convert 24v to 12v for trailer wiring. i.e. 7 (I think) wires in 24v, 7 wires out 12v. Really expensive though at about $350.00 3 years ago.
Cheers Alan
