Greetings Yawl, looking at a 2001 4.2 patrol and was wondering when they sorted the 5th gear issue out?

G'day Ferret, My uncle's needed doing and he has a 04/2001 model.
Mine also had to be done but
mine is a 2000 model. Nissan upgraded to a GUIII in oct 2001 so maybe around this time it was sorted but to be safe look for the 2002 if you want my advise.

I would suspect one of that age to have been already fixed....
The driveline is absolutely bulletproof apart from that problem.

There's an excellent '99 4.2TD down this way in
Lakes Entrance on countrycars.com.au and if you can get him to budge on his $32k price it's exceptionally tidy with only 97,000km on it.
No affiliation. I looked at it before he dropped the price and bought a different truck.
