Any old saltys around that have a clue what the weather/seas are normally like this time of year around the blow holes north of canarvon.
We are heading up around the 28th June and have been told that the swells that time of year are big so not to bother going.
Anybody?????

Swell will generally be bigger approaching and into winter. Combined with high morning tides makes fishing potentially dangerous, but if you want to see the blow holes firing, big swells are what you need.

We are not going to the blow holes exactly, we are going to warroora station which is about 75k's north BUT we were going to stay at a
shack around the blow holes but the guys dad that owns the
shack has advised us that the weather will be crap that time of year and now our mate isnt going so no
shack.
So we are sticking with our first plan of going to warra which is beach .But was just looking for
feedback on weather conditions for that time of year.

It's the old story "You should have been here yesterday" and thats true as yesterday was a magic day in
Carnarvon no breeze and flat calm . We are to far North for the normal frontal stuff which effects the S/West corner most of the weather comes from N/West this heavy years rain has all be remanants of cyclones.
The winter weather is great up here quite mild and not affected by the dreaded SOUTHERLY'S as they have gone till Oct .The Islands Hartog' Bennier and Dorre do cut the swells down and protect the coast so come and enjoy it the weather is something you have to put up with and make the most of.

We have just come back from a family holiday at warra for 7 days and the weather wasn't too bad we got a bit of the cyclone tailend but that was all.
This is the annual boys fishing trip and we are hoping to get the boat out a lot moree than we did last year in late august the weather was crap.
But i agree i think once all this storm activity has passed we should be in for some nice waters/weather.

We camped at Warra about 5 years ago for 10 days in July and it was beautiful, had a couple of days of wind but the rest of the time was perfect...it's so hard to tell what weather you are going to get up there, we were lucky I suppose.
