The mechanic that I have been going to for years has just sold his business, and I don't know the new guy from Adam. I live close to city (Perth) north side. Can anyone recommend a good, (Read Quality and Price) mechanic to work on my Nissan and my sons 60 Series. The guy I used to go to knew our cars, budget and driving habits, and serviced to suit.

I guess if someone recommends another mechanic- you won't know him from Adam either..
Why not give the 'new' bloke a go?? Might be a good opportunity to establish a good relationship- and let him know your expectations !!

I agree
The poor bugger has probably paid for the goodwill of the business and you are not even prepared to give him a go.
You'd have to think he would be working his backside off to maintain existing customers.

Got nothing agin the new guy. My work has shifted to the city so he's harder to get to. Thought the recommendations of fellow forum readers might be better than cold calling on someone I don't know.

He is a friend of mine,he is having a shoulder operation this week but will be back on deck next week i believe.He has a guy working for him so if you wanted anything urgent you could still get it done.
