I believe they are both made by ZTE.
Are the any good???-- probably only time will tell.
Have had a Telstra 165 (ZTE) on the
farm that the father uses for about a year now, seems to be OK so far. Good reception where we are at Windara.

My ZTE has broken down 3 times in 10 month and last time I send it back to Telstra asked them to keep it. Gone back to my old Nokia and leave Telstra as soon as my contract runs out.
The ZTE has a 35% fail rate and they know it. At least Nissan does a re-call and apologises..........Telstra doesn't need to.

I have the Zte F 165 and am happy with it .
The 165 received mixed reviews by users prior to me buying , but I was influenced by my son who is a sparkie in the bush and uses one.
They have a
forum , where company rep will give advice .
Check it out here
Reiner, sorry about your experience but I suggest you make a post on their
forum and see if they can sort it out.
In the past after 1 month any warranty issues needed to be sorted out direct with zte but now Telstra handle them all .

I purchased a ZTE 165 some months ago. I am a builder working on the South Coast NSW where coverage is atrocious. It provides excellent service although bulky. I recently took it to Europe and have nothing but praise for it's function
