The Queens birthday long weekend is rapidly approaching and I was wondering if any members are planning any camping trips over the 3 days in Victoria.

I would be interested to hear of any.

Cheers

I would love to be able to go camping, but I have just committed myself to assisting the Emergency Services Queensland in running activities for the Cadet camp they are holding.
It should be interesting 50+ Cadets from the region, I have the task of teaching them Navigation LOL I wonder how many will get lost.

Cheers Kev

G'day Kev,

Your a brave man !..........LOL

I take my hat off to you though. Having been involved in the scouting movement many moons ago, it can be very rewarding imparting your knowledge onto the younger generation and seeing their appreciation for something they have learnt.

Hope you have a terrific long weekend anyway.

Cheers.

Hey Kev,

Are you playing with Brian Pitt's Group at the moment? Great to hear others helping the youngsters of today get outdoors and enjoy themselves....

I got conned into it on Tuesday night when at SES training. They knew I had just left the Army so was a prime candidate for the Nav Training.
It should be interesting to watch them only use protractors and paper maps both on land and water. As they have a Nav ex across both land and water (in boats) to do.

I was also involved in Scouting as a junior leader prior to joining the Army, my mums still involved after 40+ years.

Cheers Kev

We have just recieved a few new GPS as well as about 8 new members so another course would be good, maybe a refreshers as well as an introductory one.

G'day Burra,

I'm considering something within say 2 hours of Melbourne. Wanted to leave Melbourne about 2.30pm on the Friday and be setting up around 4.30pm before it gets too dark. Wasn't planning on much for the Saturday and Sunday, perhaps some walks etc.

Cheers.
