I've been wanting one of these for ages but won't pay Myer prices of $200 plus.

Aldi whacked one up this week at $95 so we snagged one. The rolls of bags were quite reasonable as well.

The GLW bought one this arvo, we gave it a run tonight and it works a treat.

Jim.

Thanks Troopy
I got onto Deals direct and brought one. I even had someone live on the help desk to talk too. They have a service person on 24 hours a day on the chat help line.
We have been looking at them for a while but that price was to good to miss. This one you can use other plastic bag and even seal your frozen veg bags they say.
With a lot of the others you have to use their bags and they work out about 1.00 each. This worked out at 40 to 50 cents a bag.
Its the 1st time I've brought an electrical product over the net so I will give it a test run and let you all know. If its true and you can use any bag then as long as it last a few years its a bargain. I'll be the guinea pig. C yah

That would be my luck Troopy. I brought one on Friday and they charged 5.95 to post on each item. They couldn't put the bags in with the sealer as they send everything separate. It was still a good buy though.

Ok, looks like Deals Direct may be the answer for us fortunate enough to live here on the West (Best) Coast !!

Does anyone know (for a fact) if the $95 Aldi model has any actual benefits over the less expencive Direct Deals model ?

Mainey,

I can't see any benefits (unless you prefer red LOL) that the Aldi has, it is a basic unit.

The DD looks every bit as good or better.

Jim.

Both good for cheap units ( I have an Aldi one from last year )

As long as they suck out the air, then not much to go wrong..

I bought the Aldi one yesterday (before I saw this) and it looks the deal though I have yet to try it. One question though, can you use another manufacturers bags in these sealers or do you have to use the proprietary ones - has anyone tested this out?

I bought the red Aldi one last year and it works perfectly.

Does everything the $250 Sunbeam unit does.

The best value at Aldi is the rolls of plastic for it. Seems identical to the Sunbeam ones.
