gday all i am installing a diff into my 93 80s landcruiser the diff is out of a base model i have to lock the hubs in myself i know i have to engage the centre diff lock in to make it move is that going to harm it in any way being engaged full time ?
i know the front diff will still spin it will just run off rear wheels which is what i want i have tried to get a free wheeling hub kit but they only make them for 91 and 92 models is that true thatnks for taking the time to read this.
Regards Troy.

Shouldnt do any harm having the front hubs locked in all the time- Theres nothing that will be weaker and more likely to break because of it. Dont expect any fuel economy difference for as long as you are driving that front diff. The backlash should improve out of sight though.
Free wheeling hub kits are available for all years- As far as I know the 91/92 just had smaller front discs, no change in the hubs that I know of. All years RVs and base models had free wheeling hubs so Id be surprised if ya couldnt get them. 60 series hubs are popular for the conversion.
With the t-case, Marks do an adaptor for about $600 that changes the diff to a solid drive so you can cut out the drive to the front diff easily. Had a mate that bolted one it- pretty straightforward if you are good with spanners.
