I bought 17 by 8 inch King steels with a 30mm positive offset.

They work fine. Look ok as well (got the black finish). The finish on the edges around the inside of the holes is a bit rough. They don't machine off the burr after stamping out the centres.

Also, the inside clearance between the caliper and rim, you would be lucky if you can get a tallyho paper in the gap. I paid $150 each for 8. If I had a bit of time I think I could have done it a bit cheaper.

Hi Wayne,

I bought 5 steel king rims in 16x7 late last year. Did a trip to corner country and plenty of local stuff every weekend and have had no issues. Anthony you definatly can do better i paid $95 each. I would recomend them and the black does look pretty good.

Jay4wd,
Thanks for the info, as I said to Anthony I think I will look around at some other options and then decide.

$95 is a very good price. Maybe there is more competion for 16inch rims than for 17inch.

King were the only 17inch steels I could find. After I bought the rims, I was quoted $140 each at another tyrepower dealer for the same product.

Anthony didnt even think of price difference between whell size. I also bought 5 bfg muddies so maybe they knocked a bit of the wheels

I bought 17x8's (can't remember the brand) @ $115 each (for a Prado). Could have gotten them cheaper ($105) but that mob wanted more for the tyres I wanted to go with them. Black ones were about $10/rim dearer. this was in Melb.

Cheers, Nige

I used 16x8 ROH wheels in black on my Patrol. The 16 wheels are cheaper and tyres easier to get outback. Cost was about $110
