Heard some TV shirla carrying on about Roo's facing extinction through culling in Canberra.

Have a look at the following. Probably a bit self serving, but even if it's half wrong, it gives a bit of perspective.

I was up in south western Queensland a few years back when they had a good couple of seasons. Never seen so many Roos and Emu's....thousands of the buggars. We did a fair bit of shooting, but didn't even make a dent.

Some of these left wing, feel good, tree hugging, global warming dills need to come to their senses. They may like to sit down to a good meal, but I doubt if one them gives a thought to how it's grown.

Kim,

I just need to look out my office window in down town Calliope each morning and afternoon to see skippies. They sure save on having to get someone to mow the lawns LOL

Cheers Kev

Some people have no idea.
"They may like to sit down to a good meal, but I doubt if one them gives a thought to how it's grown."
Exactly, then when in short supply because its all been destroyed and prices rise they'll be up in arms. Maybe as you have described them, they should go and live on the farms for a while and really see what its all about. Bit like the greenies and back burning and cutting down trees for fire trails etc, bet none of them were out there like the volunteers (fire fighters) and fire brigades hanging on the end of a hose endangering their own lives to save others and there property. Probably sitting at some caffe sipping a Lart'e winging cause of the smoke and thinking of what they can complain about next. BUNCH OF W ANKERS. Regards Steve M

Spot on Steve. If people are whinging about drought and food prices now.....all shooters should stop shooting roos for 12 months and then let the greenies and do-gooders deal with the backlash as the farmers go broke and we have to import primary produce and a loaf of bread cost $7.

I've seen many a time what a good season does to roo numbers and its not pretty for the farmers....and these are on properties that actively cull roos.

Some people need to get out of the coffee shops and 4 storey mansions and into the real world before passing judgement!!! (don't get me started on some our indigenous friends ;)

Cant say Im a Greenie or an environment freak, but neither do I run round the bush blowing animals away for the sake of it.

Culling any animal is obviously done to protect it from itself and I dont have a problem with this. Its done humainly and probably a fair bit of research done beforehand.

What I do have a problem with is the Rambo wannabe's spotting movement then blasting away like demons.
Seen plenty of evidence of this up north, how some animals have been left to die sickens me.

If those who shoot for sport and do the right thing good on yer.

Those that shoot to destroy something, anything, you have a big gun but a small weapon...hehehe.

Cheers....Lionel.

Richard

Can't rightly recall I said it had anything to do with 4WD or caravanning.

Rather than act as a censor, why don't you start contributing with a few stories?

Gday Kim,

extinction???

ROFLMAO

Past 3 dead ones on the road on the way to work last week ...before the Airport turn off!
Even more after that ..and 1/2 a dozen live ones?

I think she needs to get out more.
Maybe I should make a nice fluffy coat or hat and send it to her?

Cheers

Well I suppose if there is a lot of them we had better kill them, after all there used to be a lot of tigers, rhinos, elephants etc, so we did a good job of making sure that there aren't many of them left.
